On September 8th, U.S. Representatives from California, Nebraska, and Hawaii proposed a bill to support K-12 public schools on federal land by increasing the Impact Aid Program funding.
U.S. Representative, David Valadao, said this about the bill concerning his district and nationwide:
“Public schools in the Central Valley and across the nation depend on local tax revenue, but districts with federal land face unique budget challenges. The Impact Aid Program helps level the playing field for thousands of students in CA-22 by making sure they have access to the same high-quality education as their peers.”
Blue Star Families, along with other military and education-based organizations, support the bill. You can read more about it in this article.
