Discover the Everglades: A Two-Part Adventure Recap 🌿
Location: Everglades National Park
Outdoor Leader: Aurora Tallent
On Saturday, November 16th, participants came together to experience the beauty and wonder of Everglades National Park during an unforgettable two-part event! The day was filled with adventure, learning, and fun, making it a truly special experience for all who attended.
Event #1: Everglades National Park Ranger Adventure

The day began at the Royal Palm Visitor Center, where participants met with friendly park rangers, fellow adventurers, and plenty of gear to prepare them for the day.
From there, the amazing park rangers guided families on a dry hike through the Everglades. The trail revealed the park’s unique ecosystem, and the nature scavenger hunt added a fun, interactive element. Everyone marveled at the fascinating plants and wildlife along the way.
After the hike, families were able to go on a second dry hike and/or enjoy a relaxed picnic with their own packed lunches, sharing laughs and stories while soaking in the serene Everglades scenery.

Event #2: Slough Slog Adventure (Ages 8+)
The excitement continued for participants aged eight and up with the Slough Slog Adventure. Families waded through the Everglades’ wetlands, getting up close and personal with this unique environment.

Despite wet shoes and muddy clothes, smiles and laughter were in abundance. The slog was not only an incredible learning experience, but a chance to see the Everglades from a perspective few get to enjoy.
A Day to Remember
This two-part event was a perfect mix of exploration, education, and connection. Families left with newfound knowledge about the Everglades ecosystem, cherished memories, and maybe a little mud on their shoes!
